Fun at the Magees

On Saturday after we walked around Coeur d' alene we went to our friends the Magees house. The kids played on their blow up water slide. What fun!!! That evening the adults went out to eat at Twigs. Then on Sunday we went to church with them and their church picnic. That evening we walked to the park by their house. Then after a yummy breakfast on Monday morning we headed home. What a fun vacation we had. Next time we will go away for longer. We are thankful for great friends and the beauty the Lord has created.

Coeur d' alene

Saturday morning after breakfast we walked around Coeur d' alene. It was beautiful. We walked along the "floating sidewalk", went to the park, and put our feet in the water at the lake. The park was amazing. I think everyone should visit Coeur d' alene. I hope to go there again sometime.

Breakfast at Denny's

Breakfast at Dennys. This is the first time we have taken the kids out for breakfast. Since we were up so early we went out to breakfast.

Camping at Wolf Lodge

We went camping at Wolf Lodge near Coeur d' alene, Idaho. I found the camp site online. It looked great online. When we arrived we realized that it was a frontage road camp site. So we could hear the highway 90 trafic. It looked like they had just cleared trees and put in grass. The camp site were about 20 feet apart. And the creek/river they advertised online was stagnant. However, since it was the kids first experience camping we decided to make the most of it since they didn't know any better. So, we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. This was the first time the kids had had smores. They really liked them. Ethan didn't want to go to sleep that night and so he was up until about 11 pm. Then the boys woke up at 5:30 am. They were super loud so we got up and packed up and left so as not to wake up all of the other campers since everyone was so close.

Road Trip

Then on Friday morning we headed out for our road trip. Our first stop was camping at Wolf Lodge. Then the next day we went to our friends the Magee home in Spokane. Here are a few of the picture of the boys as we began our trip.

Spaids Visit

The next thing we had happen last week is that we got to see our friends the Spaids. They used to live here in Seattle but, now they live in Nashville. We always love it when they come to visit. We just wish they would move back! ;)
Here is a few picture of Ethan, Micah, & their daughter Maggie. Lucas was at school when the picture was taken.

Pop-Pops & Grammy Jo Visit

After our visit with the Gates we went to the airport to pick up my parents. My parents were on their way from Glaicer to Lake Tahoe. They stayed the night on Monday and then headed to the airport Tuesday. It was fun to see them. We hadn't seen them since May. The boys had fun reading with them.

A visit from the Gates

So, our summer has been fairly quiet this year... not much going on until this last week. It started with a visit from the Gates (well 2 of the Gates). Wendy called and said we are going to be in Seattle for a few day would you like to go to the zoo. I said of course because it is alway fun to see one of your best friends from college. So, Micah and I met Wendy and her son Caleb, and Wendy's mom at the Woodland Park zoo. Caleb and Micah acted like they had known each other for a long time. We had a great time looking at the animals and catching up with a great friend!!!

Our most recent projects

For those of you who know over the past 4 years since we have owned our home we have been doing a project almost all of the time. Well, we did a project we have been wanting to do since we bought the place. The people who owned the house before we did knew just enough to do some of their own remodeling. However, most things were done very strange. The put up this crazy over hang thing with shingle but it was flat so it just trapped water and leaked and looked really ugly. So, on Saturday we finally took it down. We will be finishing all of the siding and windows and painting within the next month. So, our house will look less like a construction site.

Lucas rides the bus

Over the last 2 years since Lucas started preschool I have driven hime to and from school. However, this year for summer school we decided to let him take the bus. He was very excited to ride the bus. He has a wonderful and very nice bus driver named Rachel which makes it much easier for us to send him on the bus. Not to mention it save us a ton on gas.

A taste of Summer!!!

We made yummy watermelon and cantalope popsicles with Auntie Ali last Tuesday. They were really good.

Summer has finally arrived!!!!!!

We had a bit of a "heat wave" (yes I know that it's not the same as a heat wave other places) . It got up to 90 or so. Even though it was hot we were very thankful for some sun. The sun has been here for a little over a week now and we are loving it!!!
